I have a confession

I’m a sucker for late 80s big hair rock bands. Winger, Poison, Warrant, Skid Row – you name the band, I probably have at least one of their ballads on my iPod. I just can’t help it – I’m a hopeless child of the 80s.

Today’s selection while pipetting a 384-well plate:

Go ahead, take your shots.

  1. I can't take a shot at you because I owned albums by some of the bands you mentions and had the biggest crush on Sebastian Bach from Skid Row when I in 8th grade. However, I don't own them or listen to them anymore. I tried them out a few years ago and with the exception of a few, they just didn't hold any appeal for me anymore.
And hey, whatever gets you through the pipetting.

  2. ohoh 🙂 I have 'em too…. not as many as I had before, since I didn't put them on my ipod – they're somewhere in the boxes on my parent's attic (the LPs… and some CDs).

I did buy a “compilation of the best 80ies” rock bands a few years back. Beast of Band or something equivalent… it's sometimes nice to listen to in the gym or vaccuming.

  3. Another child of the late 80's, but not a huge fan of hair metal. My hubby is though. Listening most of these songs now makes me feel really nostalgic, which can be good or bad depending on the memory a particular song evokes.

I do like this song though and am off to add it to my “lab tunes” play list.

  4. I don't listen to them very often, but there is quite a bit of nostalgia associated with some of the ballads. The few times they come up on my iPod during long pipetting sessions, I find them very relaxing.

Oh, and I'm inclined to think Rush is a bit cooler than the 80s hair bands I'm referring to. 🙂

What say you...
